This will be a page dedicated to some side projects that aren’t my primary focus and can take an extended period of time to be completed. This is mostly so you can get an idea of other things that I like to spend my time doing.
Cyber Deck Project
Since I happen to have an extra Raspberry Pi 4 around, I thought it made a lot of sense to try to put together a Cyber Deck even though I’m not as good in hardware as I am in software. Maybe that’s a good reason to be doing this project? Basically taking the Rpi4 along with some other off the shelf parts to make a kind of utility computer. Mounted within an Apache case, complete with 7.9” display running at a 1280x400 resolution!
- Goal is to just to get more practice with hardware based projects.
Dual Booting Windows 11 on Ayn Odin
Maximizing the performance and usefulness of mobile devices is very relevant to me as someone that has the bad habit of getting new phones fairly often. The Ayn Odin has a processor that isn’t the cutting edge but can run Windows 11 well enough to be usable in a few different gaming situations and even as an emergency workstation in a pitch. Not that I’d want to work on a screen that small – being able to play older 90s and early 00s games is very doable. Controls are a bit of a challenge but Steam can help quite a bit here.
I’ve largely already completed this project and have Windows 11 working well on the Ayn Odin, this will be placeholder text while I put together some pictures/video for this project being “complete.”
